Basketball Recap: Andres Demoya's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Coral Glades over Miami

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Coral Glades couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 63-53 to the Miami Stingarees on Monday.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andres Demoya, who went 6-for-10 en route to 18 points. That's the most points Demoya has posted since back in November of 2024. Gavin Reed was another key player, putting up ten points and eight assists.

Miami's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Richard, who went 13-for-18 to rack up 27 points and eight boards. Richard is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Absalon Cortes, who earned seven points along with 12 assists and seven steals.

Coral Glades' defeat dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Miami, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Coral Glades does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miami, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-44 loss against Columbus on the 20th.
