Softball Recap: Cypress Lakes Comes Up Short

Cypress Lakes extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-18. They came up short against the Bridgeland Bears, falling 14-1. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly 13 runs.

As for Bridgeland, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-4. Considering they have won 19 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Bridgeland's part, Stevie Scheiffele and Lucy Sharon did most of the damage at the plate: Scheiffele went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Sharon went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Scheiffele a new career-high. Luciana Correa was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Cypress Lakes has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 loss against Langham Creek on the 14th. As for Bridgeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Cypress Ranch on the 14th.
