Softball Recap: Erath Bobcats vs. Berwick Panthers

Erath extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 12-13. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Berwick Panthers. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 23-3 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kate Wilson and Elise Mencacci stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilson went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Mencacci got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Iryion Ardion was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

As for Berwick, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

On Berwick's side, the team relied heavily on Emilly Osburn, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave Osburn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Azyria Garrison, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Looking ahead, Erath will face off against Delcambre at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Berwick, they will square off against Terrebonne at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
