Football Game Preview: Wylie Bulldogs vs. Lubbock-Cooper Pirates

The Wylie Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wylie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.5 points per game this season.

Wylie will head out to face Lubbock-Cooper after giving up their first home loss of the season last Friday. The Bulldogs took a blow against Memorial, falling 45-14.

Although Wylie took the loss, they still got scores from Blaze Ruffin and Dylan Regala.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ruffin, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper beat Memorial 49-42 on Thursday.

Lubbock-Cooper now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wylie, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Wylie strolled past Lubbock-Cooper in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 22-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
