Baseball Game Preview: Mantachie Mustangs vs. Alcorn Central Bears

Mantachie is 2-8 against Alcorn Central since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mantachie Mustangs will be playing at home against the Alcorn Central Bears at 6:00 p.m. The matchup will give Mantachie their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.

On Saturday, Mantachie came up short against Calhoun City and fell 5-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mantachie saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Baxter, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Collin Elliott also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Alcorn Central came up short against Tishomingo County on Saturday, falling 14-4. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Braves recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Mantachie's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Alcorn Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
