Basketball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun lost against Wahama back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Calhoun Red Devils had to suffer through an 85-33 loss at the hands of the Wahama White Falcons. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

Calhoun's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Carpenter, who posted seven points. Carpenter has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wood, who earned four points.

Calhoun has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Wahama, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Calhoun will square off against Doddridge County at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wahama, they will challenge Van at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
