Basketball Game Preview: Woodward Academy War Eagles vs. Dutchtown Bulldogs

The Woodward Academy War Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Dutchtown Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Woodward Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 matchups.

Woodward Academy came out on top against Tri-Cities by a score of 65-52 on Saturday. The War Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Woodward Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Whitner led the charge by going 7-for-17 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. The game was Whitner's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Z Williams, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Woodward Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Dutchtown came up short against Newnan on Saturday and fell 46-38. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodward Academy pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points over those games. As for Dutchtown, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13.
