Basketball Game Preview: Tascosa Rebels vs. Lubbock-Cooper Pirates

The Tascosa Rebels are taking a road trip to square off against the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tascosa had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Amarillo put an end to it on Friday. Tascosa came up short against Amarillo, falling 52-28. The match marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lubbock-Cooper entered their tilt with Lubbock on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Westerners with a sharp 63-37 win. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Westerners are ranked 788th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tascosa's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. As for Lubbock-Cooper, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.

Tascosa came out on top in a nail-biter against Lubbock-Cooper in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 78-75. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tascosa since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
