Madison County and Clarke County are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Madison County Mountaineers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clarke County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Madison County ended up a good deal behind Central Woodstock and lost 67-49. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while the Falcons are ranked 73rd).

Meanwhile, Clarke County came up short against Luray on Friday and fell 73-62. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Madison County dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Clarke County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Things could have been worse for Madison County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Clarke County in their previous meeting back in January.
