Basketball Recap: Archbishop Wood Comes Up Short

Archbishop Wood was the 81-74 winner over St. Joseph's Prep when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Archbishop Wood Vikings fell 76-65 to the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Hawks are ranked fifth).

Archbishop Wood now has a losing record at 9-10. As for St. Joseph's Prep, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Archbishop Wood has already played their next contest (against West Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. Joseph's Prep will face off against Neumann-Goretti at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Neumann-Goretti's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
