Basketball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Highland entered their matchup against Onteora on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Highland Huskies fell just short of the Onteora Eagles by a score of 63-60. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-38 on January 10th.

Emerson Ingalsbe had an outrageously good game for Onteora as he went 7 of 14 en route to 21 points. Ingalsbe is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Ryder Bickel was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 18 points.

Highland's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for Onteora, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will square off against Dover at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland is facing Dover at the right time seeing as Dover is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Onteora, they will challenge Webutuck at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Onteora's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
