            Baseball Recap: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Clovis North Broncos        
        
		
        
        
            Elk Grove suffered their closest  defeat since March 28th on Monday. They fell just short of the Clovis North Broncos by a score of  3-1. The Thundering Herd were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in March of 2017.
 Colton Lincoln was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Furthermore,  he didn't allow a single  walk, the first time  he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.
 On the hitting side, Elk Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brent Martin, who  went 1-for-4 with one  double.
Elk Grove has also traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record  this season. As for Clovis North, their win was  their eighth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 15-3.
 Elk Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  5-4  victory against Kerman on the 15th. As for Clovis North, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  3-2  win against Bradshaw Christian on the 15th.
