Baseball Recap: Hastings Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hastings walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Blind Brook Trojans 5-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-9 victory on May 2nd.

Hastings got a great performance from Nathan Krapf as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Krapf has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kieran McGrath, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. He has become a key player for Hastings: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one home run, but 6-9 otherwise. Matt Corbo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hastings is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Blind Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13-1.

As of now, neither Hastings nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
