Baseball Recap: Silas Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Silas was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Bellarmine Prep Lions. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Lions last Tuesday, they had to take a 6-0 loss.

Jesse Bell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Bell was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Silas: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jackson Keeton was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Cade Owen also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Silas' record is now 8-5. As for Bellarmine Prep, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silas will challenge Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bellarmine Prep, they will face off against Peninsula at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
