Volleyball Recap: Monache Wins Going Away Against Mt. Whitney

Monache won the last time they faced Mt. Whitney and things went their way on Monday too. The Marauders put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Monache not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Mt. Whitney between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.

London Haynes paced Monache's offense, picking up ten kills. Haynes got some help from Jaylee Alvarico and her 15 assists. Alvarico was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win got Monache back to even at 11-11-1. As for Mt. Whitney, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monache will challenge rival Redwood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Whitney is set to face off against their familiar foe El Diamante at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
