Softball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes vs. Albuquerque Academy Chargers
Pojoaque Valley blew Albuquerque Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Albuquerque Academy got their revenge. Pojoaque Valley fell just short of Albuquerque Academy by a score of 15-13. The Elks/Elkettes' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.
Allayah Rios made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lauren Salazar, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Pojoaque Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
