Baseball Recap: Francis Lewis Patriots vs. Washington Trojans
After flying high against Madison on Friday, Francis Lewis came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 8-3 to the Washington Trojans on Monday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.
Renos Pagiatakas was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Pagiatakas was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pagiatakas wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Espn Fan, who went 1-for-4 with one run.
Francis Lewis has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
