Preview: St. John Woodchucks vs. Midway/Minto Mustangs
St. John has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Midway/Minto Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. John focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.
Last Monday, St. John came up short against North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette] and fell 62-54.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tayden Longie, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Parisien, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Park River/Fordville-Lankin scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Midway/Minto still came out on top. Midway/Minto enjoyed a cozy 71-57 win over Park River/Fordville-Lankin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Midway/Minto.
St. John has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Midway/Minto, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
