Volleyball Recap: Pratt's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Pratt lost to Hays back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Greenbacks walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Indians. The game was the first time the Greenbacks have beaten the Indians on their court since September 17, 2020.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23.

Mica Stapleton paced Pratt's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stapleton got some help from Savannah Copus and her ten assists. Addison Sowers controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Hays had strong showings from Annie Humphrey, who had 18 digs and one assist, and Sylvia Johnson, who had 13 assists and five aces.

Pratt's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Hays, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Pratt has already played their next match (against Hoisington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hays, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Garden City on the 18th.
