Softball Recap: Carpinteria Comes Up Short

Carpinteria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 18-2 to the Santa Paula Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in February.

Carpinteria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Santa Paula, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carpinteria will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Channel Islands at 3:30 p.m. on March 31st. Carpinteria is facing Channel Islands at the right time seeing as Channel Islands is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Santa Paula, they will take on Buena at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
