Basketball Game Preview: Valley Falls Dragons vs. Perry-Lecompton Kaws

Valley Falls and Perry-Lecompton are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Valley Falls Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Perry-Lecompton Kaws at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Falls will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Valley Falls earned a 53-44 win over Oskaloosa.

Valley Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Collin Kearney led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kearney is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 63% in the last five games he's played. Damian Cervantez was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Perry-Lecompton was able to grind out a solid victory over Doniphan West on Monday, taking the game 46-35.

Valley Falls' win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Perry-Lecompton, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Valley Falls came up short against Perry-Lecompton in their previous meeting back in January, falling 58-45. Can Valley Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
