Volleyball Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Syracuse Rockets
After flying high against Tri County on Thursday, Elmwood-Murdock came back down to earth. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Syracuse Rockets on Tuesday. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Elmwood-Murdock was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23.
Brooke Goudie paced Elmwood-Murdock's offense, picking up eight kills. Goudie got some help from Lucy Backemeyer and her 15 assists. Annie Backemeyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Syracuse can attribute much of their success to Jailei Walker, who had ten digs. That's the most digs Walker has posted over her last two matches.
