Baseball Recap: Cody Branham Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Saluda

Central's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Saluda Tigers a 4-0 shutout.

Aidan Welch was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Welch wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cody Branham, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Saluda, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Central nor Saluda have any future games scheduled.
