Football Recap: Twin Lakes Starts Season with Win at Home

Twin Lakes took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 39-14 margin over the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargin' Chargers, too.

Carson Wagner had a dynamite game, rushing for 190 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Ledger Shaffer also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Twin Lakes proved: they limited North Montgomery to a paltry 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Matthew (Chewie) Walters for the heroic effort on defense: he. Twin Lakes didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.5.

Twin Lakes' defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Colton Robertson was the leader with two. Tate Goyer was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Coming up, Twin Lakes will head out to take on Delphi Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Montgomery, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
