Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saginaw walked away with it. While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was the Rough Riders who were credited with the victory on Friday. The Saginaw Rough Riders got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Grapevine Mustangs's three. This was payback for Saginaw, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The win made it two in a row for Saginaw and bumps their season record up to 11-8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matches. As for Grapevine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11-3.

Saginaw didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Mansfield Summit on the 25th. Grapevine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
