Softball Game Preview: Kenosha Tremper Trojans vs. Wilmot Panthers

The Kenosha Tremper Trojans will face off against the Wilmot Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kenosha Tremper will be strutting in after a victory while Wilmot will be coming in after a loss.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Kenosha Tremper and Racine Case had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 8-4 on Tuesday.

Sophia Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, Kenosha Tremper let Camille Sporer and Finley Koziol run wild. Sporer went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Koziol got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Sporer has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava DeBartolo, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Kenosha Tremper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Wilmot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Westosha Central, falling 15-3.

Wilmot's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Kenosha Tremper, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Everything went Kenosha Tremper's way against Wilmot when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Kenosha Tremper made off with a 17-1 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
