Basketball Recap: Pine Grove Comes Up Short

Pine Grove lost against Falkner back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pine Grove Panthers took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falkner Eagles.

Leading Falkner to victory were Elijah Mauney and Chris Nunley. Mauney dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Nunley posted 23 points and seven boards. Mauney is becoming a predictor of Falkner's success: when he posts at least ten rebounds the team is 5-2 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Malakhi Nunley was another key player, putting up six points.

Pine Grove's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Falkner, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Falkner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
