Basketball Recap: Normal University Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Normal University Pioneers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to the Fieldcrest Knights.

Normal University has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season. As for Fieldcrest, they pushed their record up to 15-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Normal University and Fieldcrest could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Normal University will take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 212 places (342 vs. 130). Meanwhile, Fieldcrest (ranked 285th) will meet Tremont (ranked 122nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
