Softball Recap: Smithfield Sentinels vs. Cumberland Clippers        
        
		
            
 On Monday, Smithfield faced Cumberland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Smithfield Sentinels came out on top against the Cumberland Clippers by a score of  16-13. Smithfield's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Crystal Cacador was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Skyla Oliveira, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2.
 The  victory was  the third in a row for Smithfield, bringing their record for this year to 5-6. As for Cumberland, they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 7-7.
 Smithfield will head out on the road to  take on  East Providence at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Smithfield will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last. As for Cumberland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Greenwich at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. East Greenwich's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so Cumberland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
