Football Game Preview: Center Roughriders vs. Van Vandals + How To Watch

The Center Roughriders will face off against the Van Vandals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center will be strutting in after a win while Van will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Center beat Rusk 27-20. The victory continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Center's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremy Bluford, who rushed for 139 yards and two scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Bluford is becoming a predictor of the Roughriders' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 5-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Easton Wulf, who rushed for 60 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Van suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by Pleasant Grove and fell 56-14. While losing is never fun, the Vandals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Hawks are ranked 34th).

The victory got Center back to even at 5-5. As for Van, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
