Basketball Recap: Justice Takes a Loss

Justice played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 56-34 to the Mount Vernon Majors. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Mount Vernon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rachael Sykes led the charge by putting up 15 points and five steals. The match was Sykes' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Natalie Turner, who posted 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Justice has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Mount Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

When Justice and Mount Vernon next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Justice will try to stop Edison's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Mount Vernon will face off against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
