The Horse Creek Academy Stallions will face off against the Providence Athletic Club Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Horse Creek Academy comes in on six and Providence Athletic Club on eight.
Horse Creek Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Calhoun County 15-0. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Adrien Beak was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Stuart, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Robatue, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Providence Athletic Club earned a 7-4 win over American Leadership Academy on Friday.
Atalie Gauntt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Kirsten Thomas was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylin Otey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Providence Athletic Club's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Horse Creek Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
