Softball Recap: Porter Comes Up Short

Porter was the 14-12 winner over Brenham when they last played one another back in February of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cubs on Saturday.

Porter has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Brenham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Porter will head out on the road to square off against Shepherd at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brenham, they will venture away from home to challenge West Fork at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cubs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 15.2 runs per game this season.
