Volleyball Recap: Donovan Wildcats vs. Clifton Central Comets
Donovan had taken Clifton Central down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16.
Layne Hefflefinger paced Donovan's offense, picking up six kills. Hefflefinger got some help from Lily Anderson and her six assists.
Donovan's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15. As for Clifton Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-19 record this season.
Donovan has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Grant Park on the 24th. As for Clifton Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Grace Christian Academy on the 27th.
