Basketball Game Preview: Eagle River Wolves vs. West Valley Wolf Pack

The Eagle River Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the West Valley Wolf Pack at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Eagle River took a blow against West Anchorage, falling 79-50. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, West Valley got the win against North Pole on Tuesday by a conclusive 80-59. The Wolf Pack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season.

West Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Eagle River was dealt a bruising 64-21 loss at the hands of West Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Eagle River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
