Softball Recap: Meridian Trojans vs. Oak Harbor Wildcats
After flying high against Squalicum last Friday, Meridian came back down to earth. The Meridian Trojans took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Harbor Wildcats on Tuesday. Meridian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oak Harbor apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
Katie Prengaman put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off 13 hits. Prengaman has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Prengaman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
