Basketball Game Preview: Munroe Bobcats vs. Tallavana Christian Lion

The Munroe Bobcats will venture away from home to challenge the Tallavana Christian Lion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Munroe challenged Gadsden County on Saturday. Munroe fell just short of Gadsden County by a score of 77-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (59), the Bobcats still had to take the loss.

Despite their loss, Munroe saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jamari Jones, who went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those 20 points gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zelden Chukes, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Tallavana Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakulla. The defeat continues a trend for the Lion in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Munroe will have to contain Frederick Glenn as he made an impact in Tallavana Christian's last game. He posted 30 points. The game was Glenn's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Glenn, who earned 14 points.

Tallavana Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Munroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Everything came up roses for Munroe against Tallavana Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured an 80-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Munroe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
