Basketball Recap: Thomasville Takes a Loss

Thomasville fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Williams on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 70-62 to the Williams Bulldogs. While Thomasville didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Williams 16-9 in the first quarter.

Williams' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaeden Smith, who posted 20 points. The matchup was Smith's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Colby Elliot, who put up 16 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Thomasville and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Williams, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomasville will square off against South Davidson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomasville is facing South Davidson at the right time seeing as South Davidson is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Williams, they will challenge Orange at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
