Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Bruton's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Bruton won the last time they faced York and things went their way on Friday too. The Bruton Panthers took down the York Falcons 57-40. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Falcons are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bruton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Randall led the charge by going 5 of 9 to rack up 13 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Randall now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Bruton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for York, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Bruton will challenge Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Smithfield will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Bruton surely won't give up without a fight. As for York, they will take on Tabb at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
