Softball Game Preview: Colonial Heights Colonials vs. Grafton Clippers

The Colonial Heights Colonials will challenge the Grafton Clippers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Colonial Heights' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. They blew past Petersburg 18-0.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Grafton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 20-3 margin over Lafayette on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Clippers.

Alexis Henley was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Mendiola, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Grafton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .892. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Grafton's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Colonial Heights, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.
