Basketball Recap: Auburn Wins High-Profile Game Against Opelika

On Thursday, Auburn faced Opelika in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Auburn Tigers secured a 67-62 W over the Opelika Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-51 back in January.

Leading Auburn to victory were Tabari Allen and Antwane Daniels. Allen dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, while Daniels dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Allen has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Trindon Manior, who posted 11 points.

Auburn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Opelika, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.

As of now, neither Auburn nor Opelika have any future games scheduled.
