Football Game Preview: Floyd vs. Springer/Maxwell

Floyd may have come out ahead in their last match, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will challenge Springer/Maxwell on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Floyd will be strutting in after a win while Springer/Maxwell will be stumbling in from a loss.

Floyd had a rough outing against Lake Arthur two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Floyd were gifted an easy victory last Friday as Roy/Mosquero wound up forfeiting 0-2. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.

Meanwhile, Springer/Maxwell faced Elida in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Springer/Maxwell were given a punishing 19-71 defeat at the hands of Elida.

Springer/Maxwell's loss took them down to 4-3 while Floyd's win pulled them up to 2-3. Two forfeits in a row aren't very likely, so Floyd better be ready for a battle.
