Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is Regis Jesuit's 12th in Last 14 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Regis Jesuit rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the Golden Eagles back in April, they had to take a 12-1 defeat.

Hudson Alpert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chase Massey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Regis Jesuit is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Mountain Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

As of now, neither Regis Jesuit nor the Golden Eagles have any future games scheduled.
