Basketball Recap: Douglas Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ashlyn Greenfield and Hailee Koontz

Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carson Senators. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Senators earlier this season, when they won 42-32.

Douglas' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hailee Koontz, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards, and Ashlyn Greenfield, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Koontz has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 16 times she's played. Giana Zinke was another key player, putting up seven points.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.

When Douglas and Carson next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Douglas will take on Reed and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Carson will try to stop Reno's ten-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
