Football Recap: Lincolnton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

In Friday's Canine Competition, Lincolnton came out on top. They took down the Burns Bulldogs 49-35 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Rashad Lynch was his usual excellent self, rushing for 116 yards and one score, while also throwing for 80 yards and one touchdown while completing 72.7% of his passes. Those 116 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lincolnton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 236 rushing yards in three consecutive matches.

Lincolnton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rj Lynch and Zay Coleman.

Lincolnton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Lincolnton will face off against East Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Burns, they will square off against Bessemer City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Yellow Jackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
