Baseball Recap: Pecos Has No Trouble Against Mora

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Pecos and Mora, and Pecos kept the tradition alive. Pecos blew past Mora 16-0 on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Rangers/Rangerettes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Pecos let Brandon Holton and Avenicio Martinez run wild. Holton scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4, while Martinez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Martinez is becoming a predictor of Pecos' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-7 when he doesn't). Joaquin Lopez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Pecos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Pecos' victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Mora, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
