Preview: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Clinton Central Bulldogs

Tri-Central is 8-2 against Clinton Central since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tri-Central Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Clinton Central Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tri-Central has four straight wins, Clinton Central has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Saturday, Tri-Central earned a 54-41 win over Morristown. Given Tri-Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Morristown is ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Trenton Patz and Colin Kieninger. Patz had a great game and dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Kieninger did his best for the losing side, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Clinton Central, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to Sheridan on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Clinton Central has lost by exactly 15 points.

Tri-Central's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clinton Central, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.

Tri-Central beat Clinton Central 84-76 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Tri-Central repeat their success, or does Clinton Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
