Volleyball Game Preview: Live Oak Acorns vs. Overfelt Royals

The Live Oak Acorns will venture away from home to face off against the Overfelt Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Live Oak has seven straight wins, Overfelt has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Live Oak got the win against Gilroy by a conclusive 3-0.

One reason for the win was Live Oak's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Overfelt didn't have quite enough to beat Gunderson on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Live Oak's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. As for Overfelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went Live Oak's way against Overfelt when the teams last played back in March, as Live Oak made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Acorns since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
