Soccer Game Preview: Capital vs. Lakes

The Capital Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Lakes Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Capital's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Capital didn't have quite enough to beat North Thurston and fell 2-1. One reason for the loss might be Capital's aggressive play style: five Capital players were handed yellow cards.

Their goal came courtesy of Aslan Gikaru, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Lakes kept a clean sheet against River Ridge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hawks.

Capital's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1-3 and their overall record down to 4-3-3. As for Lakes, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4-3.
