Softball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova lost against Antelope back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lancers lost 17-6 to the Titans. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nyah Brown made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah-Irene Njuki, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Antelope, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cordova will host West Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Antelope, they will be playing at home against McClatchy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
